Help & Guide
How the house points system works, and how to run it, in plain terms.
The basics
Every student belongs to a house. Staff award or deduct points for conduct, effort, and competitions, and the house with the most points leads the cup. Everything below explains how that works in practice.
- How are standings worked out?
- The total is the sum of every active points entry this academic year, across all houses. It updates the moment staff log points. See the standings.
- What is the rubric?
- The public list of reasons staff pick from, each with its points. Some reasons are a fixed amount, others a range the teacher chooses within. See the rubric and its change history.
- What are categories?
- Reasons can be grouped into areas like Academics, Sports, or Discipline. Categories are just for grouping and filtering, they do not change how many points a reason is worth.
- Where can I see what is happening?
- The activity feed lists points as they are logged. The stats page shows trends over time. You always see your own entries in full, staff and admins see more detail.
- What are houses' own pages?
- Each house has a page with its standing, its members, and its recent points. Open one from the standings.
For students
- How do I see my points?
- Open My points for your full ledger of every award and deduction.
- I think a deduction was unfair.
- File an appeal from your ledger or the appeals page. A teacher replies in the thread, like a conversation.
- The reply did not resolve it.
- Once a teacher has replied, you can escalate the appeal to an admin. Escalations are limited each month, so use one only when the reply genuinely did not settle things.
- Can I control what others see?
- Yes. On your account you choose whether your profile, points total, and history are visible. Signed-out visitors only ever see your name.
- What are proposals?
- Some changes are put to a student vote on the proposals page. You only see votes open to your group, and your vote is Yes, No, or Abstain.
- How do I send feedback about the app?
- Use the Send feedback link in your account menu. A developer reads every message and can reply to you.
Accounts, login & passwords
- How do I sign in?
- Use your school email, or just your ID (the part before the @). Students can also sign in with their admission number.
- How do I change my password?
- On your account, open the Password tab. New accounts are asked to set a password on first sign-in.
- I forgot my password.
- Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. If email is set up, you get a reset link that lasts one hour.
- What is the first-run setup?
- The first time a new account signs in, it is asked to set a name, a short bio, a personal colour, and visibility choices. You can skip it and change everything later on your account.
